Story County Inmate Dies Awaiting Sentence For Murder

Glenn A. Smith, 50, died while awaiting sentencing on a second-degree murder conviction, according to a release from the Story County Sheriffs Office.

Glenn A. Smith, 50, who was expected to be sentenced on a second-degree murder conviction Monday, died Saturday July 13, 2013, of an apparent heart attack, according to a release from the Story County Sheriffs Office.

He complained of chest pains about noon and became unresponsive and lost consciousness as Story County Jail Staff treated him.

Smith was transported to Story County Medical Center where he was pronounced dead at 1:04 p.m.
