YPA Seeks Volunteers, Donations for Fireworks

Ames Fireworks set for dusk July 5, volunteers needed.

The Young Professionals of Ames has taken over the annual Fourth of July fireworks show formerly sponsored by the Ames Jaycees and is requesting donations for shows of the future and volunteers for the upcoming show on July 5.

The Chamber organization is developing a website and text campaign and will release details on fundraising efforts soon.

Any donations collected would be for the 2014 show. This year's show is set for dusk Friday July 5.

The Chamber of Commerce group, the Ames Convention & Visitors Bureau's Community Grant Program and the City of Ames will all help present the show launching from Iowa State University's lot G7, east of University Boulevard and Jack Trice Stadium.

And while donations will go toward 2014, volunteers are still needed for this year's celebration. They will be needed to help with clean up and to solicit donations. People interested can Sign up here.
