Richardson's Sprained Ankle on the Mend

Iowa State University Football Quarterback Sam Richardson is reportedly feeling better despite limp.

Iowa State University Cyclones Quarterback Sam Richardson walks with a limp as his right ankle continues to heal, according to a report in the Des Moines Register.

The player sprained his right ankle in the Iowa State-UNI game on Aug. 31. Richardson remained in the game and started the Iowa-Iowa State game on Saturday as well.

Coach Paul Rhoads told media that he expects Richardson to be well enough to play away in a game against Tulsa, 6:30 p.m. on Sept. 26.

“The difficult thing about ankles is, 'Is it high? Is it low? Is something catching in there?'” Rhoads during media interviews after practice Tuesday.

“His is low. It's not a high ankle sprain. … He feels a lot better than he did a week ago,” Rhoads said according to video posted on the Ames Tribune.
