A Confusing Response On Cairo
An army shoots, people die. The White House calls for restraint "on both sides."
During my guest-hosting gig this week on WHO Radio, I talked about the weekend massacre of Christians in Cairo by the Egyptian Army.
Christian marchers descended on a television station to protest the burning of a church in Aswan. Members of the Egyptian Army killed and maimed protesters by running them over with armored vehicles.
In a confusing response, the White House claimed deaths occurred among both soldiers and demonstrators, and urged restraint on "all sides."
As Samuel Tadros points out, this results in a call for "security forces to refrain from killing Christians, and upon Christians to refrain from dying."
