Trick-or-Treat Hours in Ames and Halloween Safety
Trick-or-Treat Night is Wednesday in Ames.
The City of Ames designated Wednesday Oct. 31 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. as suggested Trick or Treat Night hours. And anyone who stops at a Fire Station or a firefighters home will receive a special treat.
Firefighters plan to pass out temporary tattoos promoting smoke detectors. Beggar's Night falls in between fire prevention week and the end of daylight savings time, when people are typically asked to check their smoke detectors.
Last week the Ames Police Department offered a number of safety guidelines for children, drivers and the community. Some of those tips included that children remove masks before crossing the street and that drivers filp on hazard lights when letting children out of the car.
