Public Library Names Director

Ames Public Library Board of Trustees Named a New Director Last Week.

Ames Public Library's new director will be charged with overseeing a library renewal project and earning a master's degree.

Lynne Carey who assumed the interim director position was named as the new director last week. She will have to complete a master's degree in library science, which is required by law in order for the library to receive funding, according to the release from the City. Carey told the Ames Tribune she was researching programs she could take online.

She has to complete the degree by December 2017.
