Police Investigate Trash Bin Fires
Two fires were reported in the Campustown area and another was reported in West Ames near the Ames Middle School.
The Ames police and fire departments are investigating multiple fires intentionally set in trash bins near Iowa State University campus and in West Ames.
Three fires were set in bins and reported to officials about 2 a.m. Saturday, all within minutes of each other. A fire in the 300 block of Stanton Avenue and the 300 block of Lynn Avenue caused damage to buildings nearby, according to a report in the Ames Tribune. A third fire at 1318 Walton Drive caused no damages.
No one was injured according to the report.
