Ames Police Blotter: Ecstacy Involved in Two Felony Drug Arrests

Two men were arrested on felony drug charges on Tuesday.

Two men face felony drug charges in Ames.

Jeremy McCorley, 22, no address available, was charged with violation of a drug tax stamp act, a class D felony, delivery of ecstasy, a class C felony, and prohibited acts conspiracy to deliver marijuana, a class D felony, for allegedly arranging the sale of drugs on two separate occasions.

And Malachi Woods, 22, Roland, was charged with possession of a controlled substance, a serious misdemeanor, violation of a drug tax stamp act, a class D felony, and possession of ecstasy with intent to deliver, a class C felony.

In the McCorley case, Ames Police Cmdr. Jim Robinson said he allegedly sold ecstasy to another person on Jan. 3 near East Sixth and Carroll streets. On Feb. 2, McCorley allegedly arranged the sale of $120 worth of marijuana on Howard Street. He was arrested on warrants Tuesday evening at 420 E. Seventh St. He is currently being held in Story County Jail on multiple bonds totaling $120,000.

In the other arrest, Robinson said Woods was arrested when police served a search warrant at 420 E. Seventh St. on Tuesday morning. Multiple pills believed to be ecstasy were found in a coat pocket near where Woods was sleeping, a criminal complaint said. The bag lacked a drug tax stamp, Robinson said. Police also found marijuana in another pocket, Robinson said. Woods is being held in the Story County Jail on multiple bonds totaling $45,000. Class D felonies are punishable by five years in prison and Class C felonies are punishable by 10 years in prison.

Jarwhan Johnson, 19, 4210 Lincoln Swing, was charged with fourth-degree theft at 2:30 p.m.

 Feb. 11

Gustavo Alvarez-Mendoza, 21, Perry, was charged with trespassing and public intoxication on 11:40 p.m.

Joseph Johnatha Fabiosa, 23, 5378 Cervantes Dr., was charged with drug paraphernalia and possession of a controlled substance at 3 a.m.

Justin Gleason, 23, 3339 Dartmoor, was charged with public intoxication, third offense, at 3:12 a.m.

Jonathan Mom, 19, 4315 Maricopa Dr., was charged with operating while intoxicated, first offense at 11:13 p.m.

Jacob Overton, 20, 4509 Westbend Dr., was charged with controlled substance violations at 9:50 p.m.

Bryce Patava, 19, of Van Meter, was charged with assault causing bodily injury, aiding an abetting, a simple misdemeanor, and fourth-and fifth-degree criminal mischief at 1:53 a.m.

Jared Quelland, 20, Van Meter, was charged with assault causing bodily injury, public intoxication, first offense; and fourth- and fifth-degree criminal mischief., and third-degree theft at 1:53 a.m.

Kelcey Yarges, 21, Des Moines, was charged with public intoxication at 12:53 a.m.

 

Feb. 12

 

Taylor Cain, 20, 120 Colorado Ave., was charged with possession of a fake identification and public intoxication at 1:10 a.m.

Ashley Carlson, 24, 919 S. 16th St., was charged with drug paraphernalia and possession of a controlled substance at 2:45 a.m.

Wallace Franklin, 25, 702 Ash Ave., was charged with contempt of court at 2:30 a.m.

Hunter Huss, 19, 1411 South Grand Ave., was charged with public intoxication at 12 a.m.

Derrick McElroy, 25, Des Moines, was charged with failure to appear at 5 p.m.

Nathaniel Wandling, 18, 2024 Prairie View East, was charged with harassment of a public official at 1:36 a.m.

 

Feb. 14

 

Nathan Darling, 21, 2644 Hunt St., was charged with possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia at 10:37 p.m.

DaMario Page, 20, Wisconsin, was charged with simple assault at 3:45 p.m.

Cortney Sandeman, 20, Creston, was charged with unlawful possession of prescription drugs at 10:36 p.m.

Rebecca Scott, 42, Maxwell, was charged with operating while license revoked at 6:59 p.m.

Malachi Woods, 22, Roland, was charged with possession of a controlled substance and violation of a drug tax stamp act and possession of ecstasy with intent to deliver at 9:55 a.m.
