The ISU stars — one now an NBA free agent and the other ready for the draft — take part in the YMCA Capital City Basketball League.
So, Patch.com came up short on the scoreboard Wednesday against ADIO Chiropractic in the YMCA Summer League in a 114-113 squeaker. We don't care. We're considering the night a victory, anyway. Iowa State's Royce White and Craig Brackins helped attract a standing-room-only crowd to Valley Southwoods Freshman High School for a great — and free — night out for more than 1,000 people. The final score was Craig Brackins' team 114, Royce White's team 113. In the end, though, there wasn't a loser in attendance for the game, played Wednesday before about a standing-room crowd of more than 1,000 people who jammed Valley Southwoods Freshman High School for an extra-special evening of the YMCA Capital City Basketball League. The YMCA Capital City Basketball League will feature the two players going against each other tonight. Royce White will play for Patch.com. Craig Brackins will play for ADIO Chiropractic.
Not every day does the NBA come to the Big WDM — but it is tonight. In a matchup of talent that should be as impressive as it should be fun, two former Iowa State University stars will square off against each other in the YMCA Capital City Basketball League. Royce White, a projected first-round NBA draft pick, will join former coach and Patch blogger Derek Hannah to play for Patch.com. Former ISU star Craig Brackins — now a free agent after playing with the Philadelphia 76ers — will play for ADIO Chiropractic. Come back to Patch tomorrow for pictures of the game.
