Shoppers heart an Iowa-based grocery store, according to a survey of Consumer Reports' subscribers.
Fareway was named one of America's favorite grocery stores by subscribers of Consumer Reports, a publication that reviews and rates a variety of products. According to an Associated Press report, Iowa-based Fareway joined national chains Trader Joe's and Publix, and Wegmans, a grocer based in Rochester, N.Y., as subscribers favorites. About 24,000 people participated. Fareway was started in Boone in May 1938, according to the company's website. In 2011, the company opened its 100th location, and has expanded to Illinois, Minnesota and Nebraska, and more store openings are coming, the company's website stated.
