Ames 4th of July Fireworks Tonight; Reiman Gardens Open

Ames Jaycees will set off Fourth of July fireworks east of Jack Trice Stadium tonight.

Ames Jaycees 4th of July Fireworks show takes place at dusk tonight. They will go off east of the Jack Trice Stadium. The parking lots there or at Hilton Coliseum are probably the best places to view the show.  All other festivities including the free pancake breakfast, Fourth of July Parade, and the Bill Riley Talent Show, the Fourth of July Festival and the American Legion Grand Reopening will still take place on July 4. Fourth of July Fireworks in Ames

Ames Jaycees had to reschedule fireworks this year.

The Ames Jaycees had to move its Fourth of July fireworks show because the organization was unable to find an electronic shoot technician available on Wednesday evening. This year's Fourth of July fireworks show will instead take place at dusk Tuesday (usually between 9 and 10 p.m.) July 3. They will be fired from the same location, Jack Trice Stadium. Reiman Gardens has also rescheduled its Fourth of July event. Read more about that here.
