Things happening in Ames today and other things you might want to know.

1) OWLS

Story County Conservation will host its Older Wiser Livelier Senior program at the Story County Conservation Center at McFarland Park at . It's too late to sign up for the lunch that follows this month's program on Ecuador and the Galapagos Islands but the program is open to anyone.

2) The Caucus

Story County Republicans, Democrats and any other eligible voters who live in the county and want to register with a party can caucus tonight. The caucuses officially start at 7 p.m., but people should come much earlier especially if they need to register to vote. Democrats will hold a rally beginning at 5:30 p.m. Learn more . 3) Eyes & Ears

If you happen to notice something interesting today, especially if it relates to the caucus post it here for all of Ames to see. You can post a photo, record a speech, or just add a quotation.

 

4) CyRide

In case you missed it, CyRide rates went up about 25 percent on Jan. 1 for most riders. People who pay full price will need $1.25 per ride. The municipal bus service is still operating on its break schedule until next week.

 

5) Weather

The National Weather Service predicted another sunny, windy day. Temperatures could be as high as 36 degrees, but the windchill could be as low as zero degrees. Tonight's caucus going temperature will be around 22 degrees.
