Selection Sunday : Iowa State a 10-Seed Headed East for the 2013 NCAA Tournament

The Iowa State Cyclones (22-11) will take on Notre Dame (25-9) as a part of the March Madness of the 2013 NCAA Tournament.


Well Cyclones, you've just learned you're going to have to play the Irish on St. Patrick's Day.

We'll see who is the lucky one in that matchup.

Iowa State went from a borderline bubble team to an NCAA lock after winning several key victories toward the end of its season. Since Feb. 16, the Cyclones went 6-3 with a big win over natinally ranked Oklahoma State. Two of the Cyclone's three losses were to Kansas, a number one ranked seed in the tournament.

Notre Dame on 25-9 for the season was #24 ranked in the country before they lost to #4 ranked Louisville in the Big East Tournament. Louisville is the highest seeded team in the NCAA Tournament.

The Cyclones will take on Irish as part of the West Region.

The game will be played Friday in Dayton, OH and televised by CBS.
