Liberty Bowl: Iowa State Versus Tulsa Final Results

Iowa State Cyclones played the Tulsa Golden Hurricanes on Sunday in the AutoZone Liberty Bowl.

After a strong season, the Iowa State Cyclones came up a little bit short against the Tulsa Golden Hurricanes in the AutoZone Liberty Bowl on Sunday in Memphis.

The final score was Tulsa 31, Iowa State 17.

Iowa State started strong, running to a 17-7 lead in the second quarter, but that would be their only scoring of the day. They kept it close, trailing 21-17 at halftime. But, Tulsa pulled away in the second half.

Sam Richardson threw for a touchdown, an interception and 129 yard passing on 10 for 21 attempts. Former starter Steele Jantz spelled Richardson and completed four passes on seven attempts and an interception.

Tulsa fought back behind a strong running game led by Trey Watts, who racked up 149 yards on the ground.
