Friday Football: Little Cyclones Vs. Marshalltown Bobcats

Ames High Little Cyclones beat the Marshalltown Bobcats 42-7 Friday in a game at Leonard Cole Field.

The Cyclones are now 4-0.

Ames High Little Cyclones will face the Marshalltown Bobcats away at Leonard Cole Field, 7 p.m. Friday.

Ames is 3-0 after beating the Ankeny Centennial Jaguars last week.

The Des Moines Register said this is the first time the Little Cyclones have won the first three games of the season since 2005 thanks in part to having the leading passer, rusher and receiver in Class 4-A on the team.

The Ames Tribune reports that the team is doing its best since 2007 so the team's biggest problem this Friday will be “staying grounded.”

Marshalltown is 0-3 and both their offense and defense look pretty week, according to the Des Moines Register.

Take Highway 30 to Marshalltown. Take exit #185 (Marshalltown Community College/Newton exit). Turn left (north) off exit onto Highway 14. Proceed north on Highway 14 (Center Street) to Olive Street, turn east (right). School is one block, Roundhouse is two blocks on the north side of the street.
