2012-2013 NCAA College Bowl Game Schedule: Who's Playing and When

Alabama vs. Notre Dame for the BCS Title, Fiesta Bowl, Orange Bowl, Johnny Football and the Aggies, and more games in December and January. There's a handful of connections from around Iowa, including a Linn-Mar grad in the Rose Bowl.

The College Bowl Game seasons starts this weekend. The Gildan New Mexico Bowl between Nevada and Arizona at noon on Saturday kicks us off.

While Iowa State University heads to its third bowl game in four years, The University of Iowa may not be going to a postseason bowl game for the first time since 2000.

Cyclones fans and Hawkeye fans will have plenty of intriguing football bowl games on the schedule this year. We've got your complete list here, along with notes on teams featuring players who played their prep ball in Iowa. If we've missed out on any of the local connections, tell us about it in the comment section. (All times Central.)

The Cyclones roster includes Gilbert's Cory Morrissey and the Ames area can also look out for Ben Cotton, a former Ames High standout, who is a senior tight end for Nebraska. He will play in the Capital One Bowl against Georgia at noon Jan. 1 on ABC.
