Ames High Senior Details Love Affair in Video

Sam Ennis won first place in the Fuel the Future contest for a video about loving his car.

Sam Ennis, an Ames High School senior, won a $1,000 grand prize for creating a video about loving his car and giving it ethanol in Iowa Renewable Fuels' “Fuel the Future” contest.

The video, “I Got You Ethanol,” was featured at the 6th annual Iowa Renewable Fuels summit on Jan. 24.

The Iowa Renewable Fuels Association challenged Iowa high school students to create a video that would be used to educate the public on the benefits of renewable fuels.

Ennis sings about loving his car so much that he filled it with ethanol.

Ennis's recent achievement was recognized at the Ames Community School District Board Monday evening.

The video has been viewed more than 1,800 times on You Tube.

The Ames Tribune reported Superintendent Tim Taylor saying, “I watched it four times, and it is absolutely phenomenal.”
