VIDEO: Dogs and People Protest Congressman Steve King

This week people were upset over King's animal rights record and protested outside King's campaign office here in Ames. King faces Christie Vilsack for Iowa's new 4th district.

CREDO's Take Down King group brought 30 people and a number of animals to a protest outside Steve King, R-Kiron's headquarters in Ames this week.

Here is a snipet of the protest found on YouTube. This time the group was protesting King's animal rights .

Marcus Keinert an Iowa State University student tells the cameraman that King seems to insult a demographic of the population he cares about on a weekly basis.

King recently voted with 18 other congressman against an amendment to the current farm bill that would make attending an animal fight or bringing a child to one a federal crime.

The amendment was approved by a majority vote, but the bill remains stalled in committee.

The farm bill will expire Sept. 30 and several have urged for its passage. King said he voted against recessing the session in order to work on the bill and has also voted to bring the bill to the floor for a vote.
