Three members of the Ames City Council have announced that they will not run for office this fall.

Larson made the announcement Wednesday, according to the Ames Tribune.

In his announcement Larson reportedly said November would have been his fourth election in seven years on the council and that he would have to run again just two years from now.

Due to redistricting he would have had to run against Victoria Szopinski in Ward 4 who announced in June that she would seek re-election. Larson currently represents Ward 2.
