The City of Ames Electric Services Eco Fair is an educational, fun event for all ages. Participants have the opportunity to interact with vendors and gain knowledge of energy-saving products and services from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, at the , 515 Clark Ave.

A record number of vendors have signed up to participate in this year’s event, and tents will be set up in the City Hall parking lot. Additionally, the Ames Public Library Bookmobile will be on site.

In an effort to help Ames realize the goal of becoming a sustainable community, residents will have the opportunity to visit booths and learn about shopping for all types of conservation materials, vendor information and energy-saving tips. The Eco Fair will showcase more information and displays covering topics such as water conservation, watershed protection, sustainable landscaping and transportation efficiency. The event is free, and every attendee to the Eco Fair will have a chance to play games, enjoy free food and register for door prizes.
