UPDATE: Bachmann's Tent Takes Shape as GOP Straw Poll nears

U.S. Rep. Michele Bachmann's air-conditioned straw poll tent covers 10,000 square feet.

While Minnesota U.S. Rep. Michele Bachmann traded barbs with former Minnesota Gov. Tim Pawlenty during Thursday's GOP presidential candidate debate, crews began laying the framework for Bachmann's air-conditioned Straw Poll tent.

The frame of the structure looked similar to that of a small barn. By Friday afternoon it was completely enclosed and larger than previously reported. It's actually 10,000 square feet. That's 1,400 square feet larger than this 14-bedroom lodge that sleeps 44.

Bachmann's tent was still under construction Friday on the poll grounds at Iowa State University. The venue was accompanied by 30 golf carts that Bachmann's team will use to transport VIP guests on Saturday.
