Ames Meets Mundt Tonight and Names Second City Assistant Finalist

City of Ames is currently interviewing to replace the City of Ames Assistant Manager position. People can meet one candidate tonight and the second on Monday.

The City of Ames announced a second finalist for the assistant manager position and the public will have a chance to meet the first in a special appearance tonight.

Jacqueline Halburnt, a former town administrator for Estes Park, Colo., from 2007 to 2012 will be interviewed next week. She is the second finalist.

The is Melissa Mundt, an graduate. She will give a public presentation from 4 to 5 p.m. today in .

These women are two of 160 people who applied for the job. The current Ames Assistant City Manager Sheila Lundt will retire in April.

Before Halburnt worked in Colorado she was assistant town manager of Avon, Colo., where she also served in the Avon Human Resources and Public Information departments. Halburnt earned a master's degree in public administration from the University of Colorado in Denver and a master's and bachelor's degree from Wright State University. The public will have an opportunity to meet Halburnt from 4 to 5 p.m. Monday in Ames City Council Chambers at City Hall.
