Ames, Gilbert School Board Election Results

No races in the Ames or Gilbert school board races were contested Tuesday.

Voters went to the polls Tuesday to elect three school board members to the Ames Community School Board and two people to the Gilbert School Board. Both races were uncontested.

In the Ames School District, challenger Tim Rasmussen received more votes than either Mike Espeset and William Talbot in a race for three seats.Β 

Rasmussen received 33.4 percent of the vote according to unofficial results. Espeset received 32.58 percent of the vote and Talbot received 31.3 percent of the vote. About 3,600 ballots were cast.

And in Gilbert John Nelson and Sean Barber were elected to, two at-large seats. Nelson received 50.35 percent of the vote and Barber received 47.55 percent.

Both area school board races were uncontested.
