Sheriff: Man Locked Girlfriend in Trailer

Deputies freed the woman on Monday, reports said.

A 23-year-old Ames man could spend a year in jail for allegedly locking his significant other in a trailer home with a padlock, according to an article on the Ames Tribune.

Joshua Bonham, of Lincoln Way, was arrested Monday on false imprisonment charges.

The sheriff's office said they received a call 9:30 p.m. Monday about a woman who was locked inside her trailer home and freed her.

Bonham reportedly locked her in the trailer after an argument that took place earlier in the day.

False imprisonment is a serious misdemeanor punishable by up to a $1,875 fine and a year in prison.
