Ames Police: Man Threatened to Stab Brother

A 28-year-old Ames man bit his brother and threatened to stab him during a fight over the weekend according to reports.

An Ames man was charged with assault while displaying a weapon and assault with injury after he reportedly bit his brother and threatened to stab him, criminal complaints stated.

Ames police went to an Emerald Drive home about 2 a.m. Saturday for a report of a man armed with a knife who had locked himself in the basement. When police arrived they spoke with Christopher Davidson's brother.

The brother told police that he and Davidson had been arguing and that Davidson bit his forearm, complaints said. Davidson then went to his bedroom in the basement and the brother followed, complaints said. Davidson pulled a pocket tool out of his pocket with a knife blade extended, held it above his head, and said “Let's settle this,” while advancing toward his brother, complaints said. The brother told police that he went upstairs and Davidson went to his room and locked the door, criminal complaints said.
