Iowa State University Symphony

Dr. Jacob Harrison, ISU Director of Orchestral Activities, leads the 80-member ISU Symphony on a trip around the world through music. Explore the instruments of the orchestra and learn how composers use certain instruments, harmonies, and rhythms to convey their national heritage and 'show' you around the country. Travel to the Far East for a visit to China, learn a Mexican dance on the way home from a European adventure, and more. Music makes a wonderful tour guide and can take you anywhere you want to go!

Meet the musicians in the lobby for an "instrument petting zoo" following the performance. It is an opportunity to see and hear the instruments up close.
