AFSCME Endorses Szopinski for Ward 4 Council Seat
Chris Nelson is challenging Incumbent Victoria Szopinski for the Ward 4 seat.
The AFSCME Iowa Council 61 PEOPLE Committee has endorsed Ames City Council Member Victoria Szopinski for her Ward 4 seat in the Nov. 5 election.
“We are proud to endorse Victoria Szopinski for Ames City Council. She will continue to work hard on the city council and make the residents of Ames proud,” said Andy Bock, an AFSCME PEOPLE Committee member and resident of Ames.
Chris Nelson has challenged Szopinski for her seat. Szopinski is approaching the end if her first term on the council.

“Victoria understands that well-qualified, well-trained public employees provide the highest quality services to their communities,” AFSCME Iowa Council 61 President Danny Homan, said in a prepared statement.
Early voting has already begun in Story County.
