Working Over Wood: Recomposing the Grant Wood Murals Exhibition

ISU Museums

From January 9 to May 4, 2012, artist Jennifer Drinkwater invites the Iowa State and Ames community to reinterpret and recompose the original nine murals in When Tillage Begins, Other Arts Follow by Grant Wood. The exhibition and programs will be held in the Christian Petersen Art Museum’s Reiman Gallery (0003 Morrill Hall). The programs incorporate the early Grant Wood imagery and reference the history of Iowa State with images depicting contemporary events and issues on campus and in the greater Iowa community.

The Christian Petersen Art Museum is located on the ground and first floors of Morrill Hall on central campus. Admission is free, however there is a suggested donation of $3 per visitor.  The Christian Petersen Art Museum is open from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. from Monday through Friday. It's closed weekends and during University breaks and holidays.
