2013 Oscars Nominations, Iowa Film Critics Association Picks, Tout 'Lincoln' As One of Year's Best Films

Full list of nominees included. The Iowa Film Critics anticipated numerous nominations for 'Lincoln'. Also receiving good critical buzz: Zero Dark Thirty, Les Miserables, Brave.

Abraham Lincoln is traditionally more associated with pennies, but the Stephen Spielberg directed "Lincoln" looks like it may pull in some gold statues on Oscar night. The epic look at one of the nation's most beloved president's, starring Daniel Day Lewis as the man himself, received 12 Oscar nominations this morning.

Keeping with this theme yesterday, the film was awarded the film of the year award by the Iowa Film Critics Association, an assemblage of critics from across the state.

A day before the Oscars were announced the Iowa Film Critics Association announced its award winners for the year.

The Des Moines based organization picked “Lincoln”  as the best film of 2012 by the Iowa Film Critics Association.

IFCA awards for 2012 are as follows:

The IFCA also annually selects “Best Film That Has Yet to Open In Iowa.” This year’s honor goes to “Amour.”
