Weekend Activities in Ames Patch

Things happening in Ames this weekend.

1) Wake-Up Forum

Five Ames area legislators are expected to participate in an Ames League of Women Voters from 8:30 to 10 a.m. at this morning. Iowa Senators Herman Quirmbach, D-Ames; and Sen. Rob Bacon, R-Maxwell; Iowa Representatives Dave Deyoe, R-Nevada; Iowa Rep. Lisa Heddens, D-Ames; and Iowa Rep. Beth Wessel-Kroeschell, D-Ames were invited to attend. Members of the audience will be allowed to ask questions. The forum will be broadcast live on public access channel 12.

2) Zumbathon

A zumbathon to raise funds for the post prom party will be held at the Ames High School starting at noon Sunday. People may register for a $10 donation and the dancing begins at 1 p.m.

3) A Night of Hilarity

A Night of Abby-Normal Hilarity, "Young Frankenstein" takes place 7:30 p.m. Sunday at . This musical reimagines the story of Dr Frankenstein. Tickets are $47 to $51 for adults.

 

4) Amateur Astronomers

Ames Area Amateur Astronomers will meet 7:30 p.m. at the Story County Conservation Center at McFarland Park. This month's timely topic is cold sky gazing.

 

5) Ames Public Library

The should be a bustle of activity on Saturday. Body, Mind and Soul Yoga; Teen Advisory Group, Teen Roleplaying & Magic Club and the Chandra Bose Presentation all take place today.
