Trivia Night Raises Funds for Mental Health in Story County

Trivia teams needed for first trivia and gourmet dessert auction.

Anyone who wants to share their trivial knowledge for a good cause still has time to sign up for the first NAMI Trivia Night to be held May 18 at the Boys & Girls Club in Ames.

The National Alliance for Mental Illness Central Iowa Trivia Night & Gourmet Dessert Silent Auction is accepting trivia teams of 6 to 8 members. Registration is $100 a table.

Proceeds go toward advocacy, education and support of people living with mental illness in Story County.

Samantha Boyd, of Zao525, an event sponsor said registration for the event is about half capacity.

The winning team would receive $200 and free registration to next year's event.

Gourmet desserts, including a homemade pie from Dutch Oven Bakery, will be offered in a silent auction.

People are to arrive at 5:30 p.m. May 18 and trivia begins at 6 p.m. The Boys & Girls Club is located at 210 S. 5th street.

Teams should register at www.tinyurl.com/NAMItrivia. Registration will remain open until 5:45 p.m. May 18.
