1) Ames City Council

Today is the first day to file affidavits of candidacy and nomination petitions for Ames City Council seats --- ward 2, ward 4 and one at-large --- up for election. Learn more about what's required to run at this site.

2) Race

The Great Ames Race which combines, paddling, biking and running takes place Sept. 11. Entrants have until Sept. 2 to send in their registration for a reduced fee. Learn more here.

3) U.S. Highway 30

Traffic shifted onto the new lanes of U.S. Highway 30 east of University Boulevard in Ames over the weekend and the exit ramp onto Iowa 930 reopened as a single lane ramp. Drivers are urged to use caution while they adjust to the new pattern.

 

4) Widespread Panic
