More than 30 bands will take the stage in Des Moines' Western Gateway Park for the 2013 80/35 Music Festival. This year's event will take place July 5-6. Headlining it will be David Byrne & St. Vincent, along with Wu Tang Clan. Without further adieu, here's the list of bands and musical acts that will be playing at this year's event: Friday, July 5 Saturday, July 6 According to the Festival's Twitter account, VIP passes are completely sold out. Music, theater and community service will be a big part of this first weekend in April. Live bands will perform at local venues including DG's Tap House and the M-Shop and The Mousetrap will open Friday at ACTORS. The annual Stash the Trash VEISHEA cleanup event is slated for Saturday. People can still buy a ticket to Bon Jovi's April 14 performance at Wells Fargo Arena, but Richie Sambora won't be there according to the latest news. Dallas Moore wants to share his passion and hopes you can help him out by raising the $2,000 he needs to print his first book.
An Ames native intends to publish his own book of poetry, that is, if you want to read it. Dallas J. Moore, of Social Republick, has gone the way of Veronica Mars and is asking for potential fans to help him out with the book's production. He's asking for a total of $2,000 by April 11. KHOI Community radio recently used this fund-raising method by launching a campaign on Kickstarter as did the producers of the Veronica Mars movie project. The site allows people to pledge a specified amount of money that is only collected if the campaign meets its fund-raising goal. Moore, who currently lives in Des Moines, is asking for support from his fans too, but is using indiegogo.com instead of Kickstarter. Moore started writing poetry when he was 15…
