Nuns Advocate for the Poor Outside Steve King's Closed Office

Nuns on the Bus are touring nine states to discuss the Ryan Budget.

Nuns road a bus to Congressman Steve King's office to advocate for the poor Monday, but when they arrived at 10 a.m. the door was locked and no one came out to listen. King, R-Kiron, is running for Iowa's new 4th Congressional District against Christie Vilsack, an Ames Democrat.

Sister Simone Campbell, executive director of Network, National Catholic Social Justice Lobby, said that someone from King's office had planned to be there.

The Ames Tribune reported that a note taped to King's door said that the office was closed because the staff were out in the field.
