Ames Police: Woman Spit on and Bit Police Officers

A 28-year-old woman spit and bit police officers who were trying to arrest her early Sunday.

An Ames woman was arrested on eight charges including the assault of three police officers early Sunday, according to police.

Kaia Anne Kriener, 28, South Dakota Ave., reportedly kicked the doorman at Charlie Yokes about 1:40 a.m. Sunday prompting a call to police.

Ames police found Kriener sitting on the floor in the food prep area of Pita Pit, a business just around the corner from the Campustown Bar, police said.

Kriener was smoking a cigarette and refused to do anything officers told her to do. She wouldn't stand up and refused to give police her ID and started thrashing, kicking, biting and spitting, police said. During her arrest, Kriener spit on one police officer, bit another in the leg and bit a third officer on the arm leaving teethmarks behind, police said. Kreiner also had a pipe with marijuana inside it, police said.

Kriener was charged with two counts of simple assault on a peace officer, one count of aggravated assault on a peace officer, possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, disorderly conduct, interference with official acts and public intoxication, third offense.

Jesse Brown, 27, 7th Street, was charged with public intoxication at 12:50 p.m. at 119 Main Street.

Jesse Frundle, 21, Gateway Hills Park, was charged with operating while intoxicated, first offense; at 520 Welch Ave.

Zoe Schlosser, 18, Camden Drive, was charged with possession of controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia at 1 p.m. at 515 Clark Ave.

April 27

Lindsey Hart, 25, Hilltop Road, was charged with operating while intoxicated, second offense; at 100 S. Riverside Drive and Lincoln Way.

Michael Heck, 21, Ogden, was charged with contempt at 10:43 p.m. at 534 S. Duff Ave.

Jonathan Phillips, 23, Muscatine, was charged with operating while intoxicated, first offense; at 1:41 a.m. at 1599 S 4th Street and University Boulevard.

Amy Sash, 41, Pleasant, was charged with theft by deception shoplifting at 4:34 p.m. at 2801 Grand Ave.

Sean White, 20, Ash Avenue, was charged with public intoxication at 2:40 a.m. at 1111 Duff Ave.

April 28

Emily Frederickson, 21, Eldridge, was charged with public intoxication at 12:55 a.m. at 530 Welch Ave.

Kaia Kriener, 28, South Dakota Ave., was charged with aggravated assault with injury on a peace officer, two counts of simple assault on a peace officer, possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, disorderly conduct, public intoxication, third offense; and interference with official acts at 2428 Lincoln Way.

Zachary Meyer, 21, Gilbert, was charged with public intoxication at 1:50 a.m. at 2519 Osborn Drive.

Brandyn Roers, 21, Welch Avenue, was charged with public intoxication, third offense; and nuisance party regulations at 1:04 a.m. at 531 Welch Ave.

Brandon Swinney, 22, Kellogg Avenue, was charged with interference with official acts at 1:40 a.m. at 2522 Chamberlain St.

Nicole Swomley, 22, Florida Avenue, was charged with public intoxication at 12:20 a.m. at 2428 Lincoln Way.

April 29

Clovis Trabi, 28, Ankeny, was charged with operating while intoxicated, second offense; driving while revoked and failure to prove security against liability at 3:38 a.m. at 100 S. 16th Street and South Duff Ave.
