Who wouldn't want to ride to school on a fire truck?

Lucky Ames second-graders will be able to do just that as part of fire prevention week in Ames.

Ames firefighters will visit all Ames elementary schools to teach about fire prevention and will announce the lucky second grader whose won a coloring contest. The prize winner receives an Ames firefighter T-shirt and a ride to school on a fire truck. Everyone who didn't win or couldn't play can check out fire trucks 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at the North Grand Mall.

Several Story County fire departments will bring their equipment. Freddy the Fire Truck and Smokey Bear will be there too.
