Many volunteers are needed to help with children and family activities, parade line-up, barricade watching, and for set-up and tear down throughout the day on July 4.

Most volunteer assignments are in prime locations along the parade route and a great way to celebrate Independence Day with family or friends. All volunteers will receive a FREE lunch and T-shirt! Anyone interested in volunteering may contact Mary Sue Derks, Volunteer Coordinator, at amesparade.2012@yahoo.com.

Approximately 75 to 100 volunteers are needed to fill multiple shifts from 8:00 am. to 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 4.

Thank you to the generosity of the 2012 Fourth of July Parade and Festival sponsors: Presenting Sponsor - Ames Silversmithing; Kid’s Activities Sponsor - Duck Worth Wearing, Parade Sponsors - Alpha Copies, Café Diem, First National Bank; Bill Riley Talent Search Sponsor - American Country Home Stores; Red, White & Blue Sponsors - Ames Pet Resort, Gene Johnson, Realtor - Hunziker & Associates, Realtors.
